WHY KLA?

A couple years ago when I considered going abroad for a portion of my student teaching placement, I connected with the Kosovo Leadership Academy (KLA). Through meaningful communication with the principal, my parents, and church members who have been to the school, I am confident that I will be able to implement and refine my skills as a math educator while serving the students and staff at the KLA as well as experience joy and growth in this new and challenging environment.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Beginning in January, I will be alleviating the overly full class load of some current math teachers by remediating a small group of 6th grade students, and providing traditional classroom instruction to accelerated 8th grade students. I trust that the teaching and "other roles" that I will discover will benefit not only the community of the KLA , but also my personal, professional and spiritual development.

I LOOK FORWARD TO...

• Working under the leadership of Nadine Hennesey -- a woman passionately and enthusiastically living in obedience to Christ and listening to His direction one step at a time.

• Making the most of opportunities to explore & gain a broader understanding of the world and God’s people.

• Deepening dependence on the Lord in an utterly unfamiliar setting among no one I know.
